I have always enjoyed the method and thinking that goes into excellent writing. I desperately wanted to write an inspiring story ever since I was a child. My aspeirations drove me to journalism which became my identity and profession in 2002. When I moved to the USA in 2015, just after the accomplishment of my project with the Football Club of Barcelona, I assured myself I would stay occupied and apply my talents to topics and issues that would take me from producing current event news stories to creating more of an impact. Over the years, I identified as a civic engineer because I have been concentrating on activities and actions that can positively affect what is happening in our communities. I asked myself “If I was going to create a stratagem for addressing issues in Nepali communities, what would that be?” That question led to over a year’s worth of writing on identity and community engagement. Nepali Who Is Who in the USA is the ultimate outcome of that work.
My hope for this book is that it combines enthralling story and personal elements that will draw you into the social call to action to discover how you can also be an extraordinary contributor from the Nepali-American diaspora that provides better opportunities and motivation for the next generation. I have strong faith this book will be credible reference material for students, researchers, journalists and all the interested people wanting to learn more about Nepali-America. I am convinced with the fact there are hundreds of outstanding personalities whom I could not be able to include in this edition due to several circumstances, but my promise is there to include them in future editions.
